Zine libraries

As well as being a zine publisher, I am a zine librarian and zine workshop instructor. Currently you can find me working weekly open hours at ABC No Rio Zine Library. Previously, I volunteered at the Zine Archive & Publishing Project (ZAPP) in Seattle, which is the largest volunteer-run collection in the world with an archive of 30,000 zines.

ABC No Rio Zine Library is a collection of over 12,000 zines located in the Lower East Side neighborhood of New York. In the zine library, you can find zines dating back to the 1970s, zines from political movements in the city, zines about the history of New York, foreign language zines (written in Spanish, French, Polish, Italian and Korean), music zines, feminist zines, health zines, art zines, comics, zines on anything really, and an expansive collection of Maximum Rock n Roll.

In the past year, we've partnered with Center For Book Arts, CUNY Graduate Center, Interference Library, NYC Feminist Zine Fest, Teacher's College, and other schools on exhibitions and outreach throughout the tri-state area.

interactive storytelling

In 2014, I collaborated with friends to present to you The Personal Experience of Surveillance.

The Personal Experience of Surveillance is a series of storytelling panel discussions across New York City that aimed to build a shared understanding of the impact of surveillance in different kinds of people. We coordinated panel events at Babycastles, NEW INC, Silent Barn, and Tribeca Film Festival. If you have a story of surveillance to share, I'm here to listen.
